A tall white house built in a Victorian style looks like it escaped out of a dream! The whole setting is absolutely magical and greatly perfected by the white picket fence that carries a bit of a vintage style itself! A white picket fence is a timeless feature. Even when it loses its initial glistening white look it will still feel just as charming as ever giving the home’s outdoors a traditional appeal!
A series of large sliding doors and windows bring in plenty of sunlight while sparkling copper accents and curated timber surfaces provide contrast to a space painted in white. The seemingly monochromatic look of the interior cuts down on visual fragmentation gives the modest kitchen and dining area a more spacious appeal and also brings light into the bedrooms and living area at the front. Tiles in the bathroom bring a hint of green to the polished space with a chic mirror and floating vanity stealing the spotlight.
Set in an idyllic landscape filled with majestic mountains and a lush green landscape that comes alive each summer in Merishausen brings modernity to a relaxing rural setting. Designed by Dost this contemporary residence in gray sits on a sloped lot (not a surprise) and overlooks the village below.
Having lived in a home with spatial limitations for over a decade and a half the owners of this mountainside residence in wanted a smarter more efficient and refreshing modern interior fit for their urban lifestyle.
The small Victorian house was in need of a contemporary upgrade and this came in the form of a breezy rear addition that now contains the new kitchen dining area storage space and bathroom. Relying on a neutral color scheme that is anchored in white and ample natural light the stylish extension flows into the small garden outside.
A relaxing front yard with plenty of space and greenery was crafted to not only create a smart outdoor hangout but also to ensure that there was ample privacy. Set deep into the lot the main house allows family members to escape the constant rush of life in Vila Madalena even while spending sunny evening under the shade.
Designed by IF_DO it is the pitched roof the new extension that gives it a touch of traditional charm even as beautiful use of skylights brings in a flood of natural light. The rear addition acts as a transition zone or sorts between the existing home and the garden while offering an unabated window into the sights and sounds outside.
