A home designed for a modern family of five the AN House in Brazil is all about that perfect synergy between a spacious interior and even more inviting outdoors! With a central courtyard that is surrounded by the U-shaped design of the house privacy is never an issue at this large Brazilian home.
Transition between each of these spaces and the outdoor deck is seamless and fluid allowing the homeowners to enjoy an uninhibited and cheerful living environment. Cantilevered verandahs offer ample shade and keep out direct sunlight while vivacious dining table chairs and furniture bring color to the interior.
Designed by MODO Designs the structure of this pavilion-style retreat is divided into two sections with the front façade holding the public spaces and the more sheltered rear edifice containing the bedrooms and the bathrooms.
A charming little house with a calming gray interior is made magical by a really low white picket fence. The functionality of the fence is not a priority in this case – it’s all about the strong decorative value! Picket fences have been around for decades growing in popularity with each year. Seeing an old-fashioned house with such a fence shouldn’t be a surprise but we’re still stunned about how much fresher a setting looks like all because of a white fence!
One can see the rear balcony and the panoramic view beyond even from the entry as an open common space creates the heart of the home. Surrounded by large redwood trees and a relaxing garden the focus here remains firmly on the landscape outside!
Adaptive reuse and smart extensions have largely replaced home transformations that involve replacing existing structures with entirely new buildings. Apart from saving time energy and resources this also preserves a sense of history and nostalgia.
Building a family retreat around the existing trees on a lot requires both sensible and innovative design that combines nature with smart architecture. was designed by MODO Designs to accomplish precisely that as the open pavilion-style structure weaves its way through large need amla and chikoo trees on the lot.
