The Contenders: Catholic Memorial, Mansfield, North Quincy, Newton North
The Wildcards: Needham, BC High, Taunton, Brookline
Could Surprise: Barnstable, Durfee, Wellesley, Quincy
Players to watch: Tommy Mobley (Newton North), Elijah Rogers (Brookline), Anthony Green (North Quincy), Guilien Smith (Catholic Memorial), Tyree Robinson (Durfee), Ryan Boulter (Mansfield), Ryan Noel (Wellesley), Ryan Jones (Weymouth)
Overview: Don't know if it is a record, but 20 teams in a sectional has to be right up there. The balance in this sectional is evident by Weymouth punching their ticket last night with a buzzer beater over Mansfield which means the possible #20 seed showed they can be the #3 seed (on their home court for that matter). A talent loaded field which we think will come down to which star can get hot at the right time (Durfee's Robinson, North's Mobely, Brookline's Rogers can single handily take their teams to the title). The favorite looks to be Catholic Memorial but it is hard to bet against Mansfield and their experience. Watch Needham closely, as they enter the tournament on an impressive ten game winning streak.
Beantownhoops pick: Catholic Memorial. Undefeated in the Catholic League means a lot and being battle tested all season will make the difference for them over the rest of the field.
