The Contenders: Andover, Central Catholic, St. John's Prep
The Wildcards: Everett, Lynn English
Could Surprise: Cambridge, East Boston, Chelmsford
Players to watch: Tyler Nelson (Central Catholic), Eric Rosario (Lynn English), Fred Hogan Jr. (Lynn English), Nick Cambio (Central Catholic), David Giribaldi (Andover), Gary Clark Jr. (Everett), Isaiah McCleod (Cambridge)
Overview: This is the most wide open the DI North has been in awhile. Leaving the sectional are traditional DCL powers Acton-Boxborough, Lincoln-Sudbury, and Westford as they move to the D1 Central, but this is still a loaded field. In a rare occurrence, all three contenders have played each other this season and all have shown they can beat the others. Central's Tyler Nelson has been battling an injury recently and that could play a major factor in the sectional as well. The two teams to watch closely are Everett and Lynn English....great guard play and quickness but lack of defense is a concern for both teams. Cambridge can make a run if Isaiah McCleod gets going, but the top half of this bracket is loaded and it will be difficult for any higher seed to break through.
Beantownhoops pick: Andover (barely). Giribaldi is on a hot streak right now and their recent win over Central gives them a slight edge.
